PE

At Ottery St Mary Primary School, we understand how the contribution of PE can promote the health and well-being of the children. Through high quality physical activity, a varied PE curriculum, health education and extra-curricular activities, children have the opportunity to engage in activities, learn new skills and challenge themselves.

Through the school, children learn to be active and interactive. They develop coordination, control and movement. Opportunities are provided for pupils to become physically confident and engage in a healthy and active lifestyle. P.E. lessons allow pupils to work as individuals, in a group or as part of a team. Children develop core movement, increase competence and confidence and access a broad range of activities. As children progress through the school, our aim is to provide them with the opportunity to compete in competitions, both in and out of school, whilst embedding the values of fairness and respect.
