As we are unfortunately not able to use the school building for the rest of this week (see home page of website for details), we thought it would be a good idea to give you a task that you could complete at home with your children that would link with and support our work in school.

Please note, this is entirely optional, however if your child does complete the task and would like to bring it into school or put onto Tapestry to share with us.

Task 1: We have been reading the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and encouraging the children to retell the story. Therefore, could you please ask your child to retell the story to you at home and encourage them to think about alternative endings or put themselves in the position of Jack. What would they find at the top of the beanstalk and what adventure would they have?

Task 2: Linking to our topic on Growing and Changing, please encourage your child to spot flowers and trees in your garden or local area. Please talk to your child about the plants they see using appropriate vocabulary such as shoot, stem, bub, flower, leaf, roots, blossom . Encourage them to observe and compare these plants, a record of what they see and say on Tapestry would be lovely.

Task 3: This week in Maths we have been practising our addition skills including counting on and knowing addition number facts to 10 such as 3 + 7 = 10. Please encourage your child to add objects around the home or outside.

Many Thanks
