As we are unfortunately not able to use the school building for the rest of this week (see home page of website for details), we thought it would be a good idea to give you a task that you could complete at home with your children that would link with and support our work in school.
Please note, this is entirely optional, however if your child does complete the task and would like to bring it into school next week to share with us, we will be keen to look at it and discuss it with them.
Acrostic Poem
An acrostic poem is a very fun poem to write. Each acrostic poem has a topic idea running down the left side of the poem. Each letter in the topic word has a new thought that runs off the side from left to right and is relevant to the topic word.
Can you choose the name of a favourite animal to write down the left hand side of a page? Try to think of a thought to describe that animal starting with each letter of its’ name. You can then illustrate your poem by drawing some beautiful pictures. Here are some examples:
