This week EYFS had an exciting trip to Crusty Cob and Otter Produce to buy some ingredients to make healthy vegetable soup. The children enjoyed comparing and selecting the produce and then experienced paying for it.  Back in the classrooms the children learnt the names and tasted the different bakery products. They drew and discussed the variety of vegetables, noting the differences in shape, colour and texture. The children then learnt how to use tools safely to chop and peel the vegetables. Next a selection of children were chosen to make the soup and we all tasted it with our bread. YUM! The children thoroughly enjoyed their first outing out of school and were impeccably behaved. Well Done EYFS!

Next week, we will be visiting West Town farm to find out where our food comes from!
