As part of Year 1’s RE topic, Celebrations, we thought what better than to take our learning outside of the classroom and so we took a trip to Ottery St Mary Church!
Here we had our very own Wedding and learnt about the rituals of a wedding ceremony. Some children had key roles such as the Bride, Groom, the Bridesmaids, the Page boys the Best and not forgetting the Mother and Father of the Bride and Groom.
The rings were unique to say the least and the children very much enjoyed toasting the celebration with some fizzy water! The cakes were tasty too!
We did however get a little riled up when the bouquet was tossed at the end… a real show of some personalities!!
