Roots and Shoots
An Outdoor Stay‑and‑Play
For under-fives and their carers (babes in arms welcome)
Join us for muddy play, nature crafts, songs, stories, and gentle outdoor adventures in our Forest School. A relaxed, friendly space for little explorers and their grown‑ups.
Fridays • 2:20–3:20pm
Parents stay and play with their children and can head straight to school pick‑up afterwards.

How to get here
Meet at the bottom gate to the field on Yonder Street. We will open this gate at 2:20pm for families to enter.
- The bottom field gates will be locked from 2:25–3:20 for everyone’s safety during the session.
- At the end of Roots and Shoots, we will open the school gates so parents can go directly onto the site to collect older siblings from the primary school. We will also reopen the bottom field gate if you prefer to exit this way.
Please arrive on time so we can start together and keep the site secure.
Who’s Running It?
Roots and Shoots is led by two teachers from OSMP (on a volunteer basis), each accompanied by their own toddlers. We follow the school’s safeguarding procedures and use our existing Forest School risk assessments. Further risk assessment information can be found in the Roots And Shoots handbook.
Where?
Meet at the Forest School gate. Please dress for the weather — though we have access to the outdoor classroom, we will organise activities to spend time outdoors.
